Keep the useful parts.
Start with these checks if an export does not look right.
The Download button is missing
Open a saved chat on chatgpt.com, check that the extension is enabled, then refresh. Try the conversation menu or browser right-click menu. Changes in the ChatGPT interface can affect button placement.
Pause a ZIP export and continue later
- Start a chat ZIP or project export.
- Pause the export when you need a break. Completed chats and files are saved locally.
- You can close the tab and return later using the same browser profile and ChatGPT account.
- Open the same chat or project and resume its saved export.
A file that was still downloading may restart; completed parts can be reused. The extension may fetch conversation information again. Keep browser site data intact until the export finishes. Clearing it can remove saved progress, and some extension updates may require starting a fresh export. Downloads do not continue while the tab is closed.
A file is unavailable
Check the archive manifest. Make sure you can open the original file in ChatGPT using the same account and workspace. A deleted, expired or restricted file cannot be recovered by the exporter.
An interactive visualization does not open
Extract the ZIP first and open the HTML launcher. Check whether the original block needs external libraries or ChatGPT services. Keep the source even if it needs adaptation; PDF cannot provide interaction.
PDF text cannot be selected
The local renderer prioritises visual appearance. Export Markdown for editable and searchable text.
Preparing a useful bug report
- Include the extension and Chrome versions, operating system and interface language.
- Say whether you exported a chat or Project and which format you chose.
- Describe the expected and actual result, and whether it happens on a small non-sensitive test chat.
- Remove personal content, file links and session credentials from any diagnostics or screenshots.
Contact support
Email help@perserver.app. Please include the extension version, Chrome version, operating system, and a description using a small non-sensitive test chat where possible. Do not send unredacted conversations, private file links, or session credentials. The Chrome Web Store support link will point to this page once the listing is live.
Submit a ticket
Email help@perserver.app with a subject line starting with Ticket: and include the extension version, Chrome version, what you tried to export, and what happened. Please do not attach private chat exports unless we ask you to.
